Petra Segreta, Relais & Chateaux property in Northern Sardinia. And, believe it or not, this is a view from my suite (which is not exactly a suite but rather small villa with private garden and full size swimming pool, and officially it is Junior Suite room category). Tremendous, isn’t it?

The view is ever changing with light and colour, from morning to evening, but never disappointing. I couldn’t stop taking pictures, but the problem was that my private garden surrounded by sculptural le rocce sarde was as pretty as a view or even more attractive.

That’s exactly the case when you don’t want to leave your suite: amazing view, pretty heated pool, luxurious sunbed, good glass of Cannonau di Sardegna… Life is good, isn’t it?

Well, travel advisor is always on the go, and site inspection is a part of the game. Not so many rooms were available to see (even at the very end of the season hotel was on very high demand), but I had a chance to see other suites in different style. I loved my casita style accommodation, but there are also options which are emerged in the nature – less view but more privacy and cosiness. Truly something for everyone.

I should mention that Petra Segreta is just two km from famous San Pantaleo – charming Sardinian village filled with artistic shops and cute boutiques. It has very special atmosphere thanks to picturesque setting and sophisticated crowd. Fabulous place to come for aperitivo at the evening or lunch and shopping during the day. It also holds colourful market every Thursday (I was lucky to be there just in time). Please keep in mind that taxi is Sardinia is a bit of tricky, and 2 km ride may easily cost you 50 euro (while 100 km ride would be around 150 euro). I know it sounds weird, but this is from my experience. I was promised that Petra Segreta will think of shuttle to be arranged for clients in near future, but for now having your own car would be helpful.

When you say Relais & Chateaux, you think great food. Here we are: Petra Segreta has Michelin starred restaurant Il Fuoco Sacro (the name translates as Sacred Flame), and oh… it is really good. I’m not very good in food picks, but the dinner was truly enjoyable.

The design is a good mix of witty, whimsical (without getting funky) and traditional, true to the place, local materials and crafts – great taste in every detail. I adore interiors (and exteriors) with details to admire and get curious about, and Petra Segreta is the place.
