Amalfi Coast is a pure dream of many, and I can’t blame you for dreaming of it. I dream of Amalfi Coast too, doesn’t matter how many times I’ve been there, and there is no wonder – the beauty of the place has been charming anyone and everyone starting from noble romans, Caesar Augustus included. In modern times, it was rediscovered by artistic elite and started to bloom as jet-setters destination in 50th, and the phenomenon of Amalfi still has very few analogs in the world.
Surprisingly, significant hotels are very few (well, please remember that whole iconic Amalfi Coast is just 50 km long), and newcomers are very rare – there is just no space for new hotels on this rugged rocky strip between tremendously beautiful sea and dramatic cliffs.
Yet, Borgo Santandrea is a newcomer opened after pandemic and stormed the market in no time with price tag as high (or higher) as any 5 generation of success luxury property in the area. It is young, fresh, modern, and very Italian in every single detail.
It is located in outskirts of Amalfi town, next to the very own villa of Sofia Loren, and – very rare thing in Amalfi Coast – it has private beach. I mean, real pebble beach, not just a platform. The location is simply stunning, with typical hanging gardens and tremendous sea views from the terraces.
It make take 5 generations to find artistic equilibrium of hospitality perfection Amalfi Coast is famous for, but Borgo Santandrea is winning its place on the map of Amalfi. I was staying there during soft opening in 2022, and it is already hard to book. Well, I know the owner – it helps. 🙂
