Different Morocco – Taghazout Bay.

I’ve been to Morocco quite few times, always discovering something new and exceptionally amazing for myself and my clients. Discovery of Taghazout Bay was totally unexpected: I came for travel conference in Marrakech, and I was about to stay in Marrakech and around, but brutal earthquake leaded to conference cancellation, flights to get off the country were sold out, and friend of mine suggested to to go to Taghazout Bay with little group of travel advisors. Well, I’m always open for something new, and I heard about this place before without really knowing what it was. I jumped to this opportunity. No regrets!

If you like ocean as much as I do, you will love the place. It is all about ocean, endless sandy beach where locals offer you horse or camel for ride, sunsets are tremendous, and new meets old so smoothly. The place was rather wild when Australian surfers started to come for the waives. I was told that locals which had no idea of surfing before were trying to repeat, and they shortly overcame newcomers even their first surf boards were the boards left behind by tourists.

The land along the beach belongs to the government of Morocco, and the development was very carefully curated. If you are looking for authentic Moroccan, it is not exactly the place. Close by city of Agadir was totally destroyed by earthquake in 80th, and it is brand new city without historical centre. Not much for tourists, really. But Taghazout village is fun to visit and spend time in – eclectic mix of traditional Moroccan and modern boho-surfers culture, anything from Moroccan street food to trendy bars, and you can’t stop yourself from falling in love with such easy going and colourful place.

Where to stay? Fairmont Taghazout Bay of course. And I’m here to help with our Accor Step preferred partners’ benefits and added value. If you love ocean the way I do, you will love the place. Evening cocktails with sunset view, hours ridings by the beach, swimming in warm ocean, great food and beverage (OMG the breakfast!!!), yoga, spa, and so much more.

Great to combine with other Moroccan destinations for few days by the ocean. Feel free to contact me! [email protected] any time.
