Fairmont Royal York Toronto is a landmark hotel in downtown of the Canadian New York, but some may remember it getting a bit dated. Recent renovation changed the game. Its public areas, Reign restaurant and bars are trendy as never, equally requested by travellers and locals, and as young generation would say, absolutely instagram-worthy.
But the secret gem is a Fairmont Gold or Concierge level which is truly hotel inside of hotel which brings accommodation experience to another level. As a part of Luxury Travel Advisors’ Forum, I was invited to test it recently, and I should say it is a bit more than instagram-worthy. It is worthy of extra dollar to pay for being pampered and taken care of all the time from check-in to check-out: private check-in on designated floor, beautiful high end rooms, Gold level only concierge, luxurious lounge where your breakfast and through the day food and beverage treats are served, all included in the rate. It is an experience of staying in luxury small boutique hotel where everyone knows you by name. Forget how many rooms Fairmont Royal York is – you are not exactly part of this mass when you are staying at Fairmont Gold.
