Things to consider about location of Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus: if your check in comes to weekend evening, expect lots of traffic to arrive – I’ve spent almost hour pushing through last km, my taxi driver was drown crazy, and if I would not have three pieces of luggage, I would happily walk instead of being trapped in traffic for a while. The reason? Number of posh and popular night clubs populating the area. If high end night clubs are your cap of tea, you are in right place. Oh… and don’t expect your private terrace to be a quiet place. Well, when you close the door, it is quite sound-proof, so you will sleep well on you Mandarin Oriental bed.
But there are some pluses of the location too. Beauty of Bosphorus shore first of all, and yes, it is amazing. Another thing which I really enjoy was a walk to Arnavutköy area. Pleasant walk by the sea promenade ending in alive, authentic yet high end district filled with local life, restaurants and shops.
