Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai

This is another, and very remarkable, new addition to Riviera Maya Marriott presence. If you are not familiar with Edition brand, there are couple of words to explain. “Life style” brands have been emerging recently here and there, and you may know few, but Marriott went little bit further and introduced “LUXURY life style” brand. The difference? Well, the luxury. What I mean is an easy and casual meets luxurious and blends together effortlessly.

Initially, Edition was introduced by urban “home away from home” concept. But at some point it was moving further and taking stage as a resort concept too. And it works.

I’ll be honest as always, and I will confess that I have not been staying at Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai. I’ve been staying next door at St Regis and visiting Edition with professional site inspection. But the property was speaking to my aesthetics so fluently, that I thought I should make a review.

What I truly loved was an organic blend of modern and traditional, high-deign and casual, earthy natural and exquisite. I guess modern life is exactly this: all excepted as long as it is eclectically beautiful and balanced. I love the word equilibrium, and even more – its latin version equilibrio. Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai is quite equilibrio for me.

With all my love to iconic traditional, I’m not retrograde enough to refuse modern structure, but I love it peppered with lovely artisan-made details, splashes of colour, plants, and whatever is human and sincere to the place. Riviera Maya Edition has it all. With all its modernity, it is very Mexican, and very Riviera Mayan – it has orange, and red, and green, and all those oversize Mexican pots, and exquisite artisan creatures to admire, and, ones again, high design so organically incorporating local flavour to WOW effect on each turn of your head. Truly remarkable.
