Puglia swiftly becomes popular and gets to luxury travel map. Which is good and bad. Good that infrastructure of this picturesque land develops for the taste of luxury traveller and adopts to refine taste of jet setters promptly (well, prices included). Bad that authenticity not always preserved – so easy to slip off to be one of the posh others.
But luckily, Puglia is tough in preserving its best for those who understand and appreciate. Masseria Palombara is an example how it can be, and real treat for sophisticated eye, palate and soul.
Some would consider it rustic. So would I. But this is the sort of rustic to fall in love with so easily. We all speak about sustainability these days? Here we are. Be surprised how sophisticated, smooth, eye delighting and delicious sustainability can be. I couldn’t stop myself from taking pictures of every corner and detail, outside and inside. And I was learning tons from the perfect example of what we call these days “authenticity is a new luxury”.
Few random details. Workshop to give new life to everything which worth it: furniture, materials, rare flea market finds. Massive solar battery fields to provide energy not for resort only, but also for the neighbouring village (for free!). Work places for locals. Locally sourced food supply, so called “zero km”. And oh… Chipped ceramic plates are not thrown away. You will find them on your breakfast table, and you will love them. Because they are beautiful and loved. Like everything here. I know it sounds a bit…used… but truly “love is everywhere”. Come and feel it. I wish to be back soon too.
I’m here to help you to book and enjoy.
